FAQ’S

What is the life-span of my battery?

Your battery will be operating at optimum condition for at least 1000 charges. After this your battery may start losing some range.

What distance does my battery provide?

Depending on a few factors such as; the size of your battery, size of your motor, the weight of the rider and how you use your e-bike, you could get the following average range:
48V / 10.5AH - 40 to 50kms
48V / 14AH - 60 to 70kms
48V / 17.5AH - 80 to 100kms
48V / 20.3AH - 100 to 120kms

How long does it take to fully charge my battery?

This varies depending on the size of the battery you have. From empty, you are looking at the following time frame:
48V / 10.5AH - 2.5hours
48V / 14AH - 3hours
48V / 17.5AH - 3.5hours
48V / 20.3AH - 4hours

Should I wait till my battery is completely flat before charging?

Preferably not. We recommend that you try to not go below 15%.

Can I ride in the rain?

Light rain is okay yes. As our systems are water resistant and not water proof, we do advise not to ride in areas where your motor or battery may possibly be submerged in water.

We do sell Nano-Tech Water Resistant Spray as well for added peace of mind.

How do I prevent corrosion when living in a coastal area?

Always remain vigilant. Use Anti-corrosion spray to maintain your e-bike after a ride or if your bike has been standing for a while as well. Keep your e-bike clean, especially around the electrical components.

Mid Drive Motor System VS Hub Drive Motor System, which is better?

We really can’t say! These are both great systems that come with their own pro’s and con’s. We always like to find out a bit more from our riders before making a recommendation as this highly depends on the rider, their weight, the terrain they ride on and how they ride.A mid drive motor may be better for some and a hub motor better for others. Here is some more information for your consideration.

Are parts and servicing readily available?

Having our own running workshop is a bonus! Our skilled technicians are always ready and willing to help should the need arise. Operating 6 days a week, we make sure all our valued customers are taken care of. We source and keep stock of all the necessary parts and components needed to service your e-bike.

How often should I service my e-bike?

We offer a complimentary check-up and tighten after your first 150kms, thereafter we recommend that you bring in your e-bike at least every 400kms. This is to ensure and prevent that no major damage happens to your key components such as your brakes, chain etc.

Can I install the motor and battery myself?

Due to the warranty and servicing we provide on the electrical components we only allow for our trained technicians to install these systems onto your bike and therefore do not sell these separately.

What guarantee and warranty do you provide?

Once you have purchased your e-bike, we offer a 48hour satisfaction guarantee. Should you not be happy with our workmanship or the system, you are welcome to bring your e-bike back for a full refund.

Further to this there is a 1year Warranty on all electrical components such as the motor, battery and lcd screen.

CAN YOU CONVERT HIGH-END CARBON BIKES TO ELECTRIC?

Sure we can. Just pop us a picture of the bottom of your bike at the BB crank area. We want to be sure the motor will slip through the crank smoothly and if a BB adaptor is required. Some carbon frame bikes have a “lip” at the bottom of the crank that could hinder the installation. We need to be sure of a seamless fit before we can confirm which system is best for the conversion and the exact process and parts needed for fitting.
